Solar energy

Energy from the sun

The share of photovoltaics in energy generation from renewable sources is constantly increasing. We currently have a number of small photovoltaic plants in Germany. In addition, we have a shareholding in the solar-thermal power station Andasol 3 in southern Spain.

Focus on growth

Solar plant in a rural area: towns and municipalities are producing more and more of their own power.

One of innogy’s projects is to look at how to further expand solar power generation. We focus our solar activities on selected regions that get a lot of sun, such as the Middle East, Northern Africa and Turkey. Due to their strong population growth and rapid economic development, these regions are potential locations for the further development of energy generation. Here, we are looking both at the possibility of collaborating on large-scale photovoltaic plants as well as planning and installing individually tailored plants for industrial customers.
