We often speak about the three ‘Ds’, that are key for innogy: decarbonisation, decentralisation, and digitalization. Finally, it’s all about digitalization. Neither a decarbonisation nor a dezentralisation can work without the digitalization.
Artificial intelligence and creative technology – the innogy Digital Day is a hotspot for the exchange and development of digital ideas in the retail business. On March 31st innovative movers and shakers from international digital business and around 200 innogy colleagues will expand their digital horizons with numerous keynote speeches, panel discussions and workshops, and share their digital achievements and expertise. The objective: to communicate in “plain language” and acquire new knowledge for innogy’s digital transformation.
Networking as the key to digital success
The digital revolution will fundamentally change the way we live, learn and work. It predominantly calls for networking: innogy’s networking with strong partners from the digital business on the one hand and internal networking of expert knowledge from the different divisions on the other. “Digitalization is not simply technical progress, it is a fundamental shift in the company culture. Together with our partners Google, MediaCom, Ströer and Innovationshub Düsseldorf, we will discuss key digital strategies, celebrate innogy’s previous digital success and vigorously promote international community building on Digital Day,” says Franziska Eickhoff, Head of Central Digital Team Retail and patron of the tech event.
innogy is also shaping the digital transformation with a new kind of cooperation and the fostering of digital talents and skills of employees. This includes training opportunities, exchange with partner universities and idea contests surrounding the theme of digitalization. Victor Scheurecker, Senior Project Manager Digital at innogy, has initiated such a contest. This involves the development of new digital products and services, as well as the digitalization of processes. The four finalist teams will present their ideas on Digital Day in exciting 140-second pitches. We will present the winning digital idea in the near future. The winners will get a trip to Silicon Valley where they can be inspired by different tech companies of the digital Mecca!

Learning and experimenting...
...is what the participants of the Digital Day will be doing at the tech marketplace, where they will be trying out innovative technologies for themselves – true to the motto “let’s get digitized”. For example, they can try out HoloLens – augmented reality glasses with different sensors with which the user can amplify reality with digital objects using interactive 3D projections. A processor is installed in the glasses, which means that it can even work without a smartphone or tablet. It is not so much about the technologies themselves, but rather about how they can be incorporated into the working day and our products.
